Pink Carnation Topiary

Maybe pink carnations aren’t really your thing, but I was able to put this topiary together for less than ten dollars so I thought I’d share.

I stopped in last night at the dollar store and grabbed seven stems of pink carnations. I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do with them but I knew they would come in handy somehow for Valentine’s Day. Fast forward to this morning when I saw the marshmallow sticks while I was getting coffee, and now I have a topiary.

I already had an empty planter, a chunk of styrofoam and some ribbon. I stuffed chucks of cardboard (also on hand) into the planter to hold it all in place - scroll to see. In less time than it takes to drink 2 cups of coffee this project was complete.

I’m always surprised by what I find at the dollar store. I invite you to stop by yours and see if it inspires your creativity.
